Hello again Factorians! I wanted to let you know about a great product we have been carrying at our stores called “ThermoSkin Plantar FXT.” ThermoSkin is a company which specializes in recovery products. As I mentioned before, I have been going through some difficulties with my heel, and after talking with Sneaker Factory GM and all around awesome dude, Geoff, I decided it might be worth a try.

Part of the problem is when I wake in the morning, my ankles are so stiff it is even more painful to wake up! Our bodies naturally plantar flex our feet (point your toes down, away from your shin) to relax. As part of our sleep cycle, our body begins to heal itself in whatever sleep position we find ourselves in. So, as I sleep with natural plantar flexion during sleep, my heel is healing in an incorrect, non-athletic position which is why my Achilles’ is so tight and I can barely walk!

Well, the ThermoSkin Plantar FXT holds my foot in Dorsiflexion (where your toes are pulled in towards your shins) with as much or as little pull as I want using the velcro strap at the foot. Thus, waking up becomes MUCH less painful! What’s more, is if you happen to have some time at work where you can take your shoe off, and put your ThermoSkin Plantar FXT on, it can really help keep your foot in proper healing flexion if you have a sedentary job (such as myself while on my prep periods at school!). Check out the SWEET pic of Senor de los Zapatos on his couch in the ManCave in Aberdeen to see how sweet the product looks!
